This year the conference will be held at Háskólinn í Reykjavík / Reykjavík University and centre around Iran's nuclear programme and its implications. It is a perfect oportunity to practice diplomacy, negotiations, international relations, international law, debate and much more - not to mention the fun!

We welcome you to participate in this year's Iceland Model UN which will be held in Reykjavik on 17-19 February 2012.

This year, the Iceland Model United Nations UNSC similation will focus on Iran's nuclear programme and its implications.

Friday 17 February

12:30 Meet at Háskólinn í Reykjavík / Reykjavík University, room V201

13:00 Opening ceremony in room V201 in Háskólinn í Reykjavík / Reykjavík University
                 - Lecture on Iran by Hamid Pourvatan
                 - Briefing on the UN Security Council, Rules of Procedures and the weekend ahead

15:30 Departure for Bessastaðir (transportation provided)

16:00-17:00 Reception by the President of Iceland, Mr Olafur Ragnar Grimsson at presidential residence, Bessastaðir (transportation privided back to the university)

Saturday 18 February

10:00-14:30 Session (including breaks)

15:00-16:00 Coffee reception with diplomats and other guests

16:15-18:00 Session

Sunday 19 February

11:00-16:00 Session (including breaks)

16:00 Closing ceremony. Awards and light refreshments.
