IceMUN 2010 Conference Information:

To all university students and high school seniors,

The IceMUN Organizing Committee is working diligently to prepare for the up-and-coming IceMUN 2010 Conference and we would like to announce the finalized topics for  our conference:
  1. The Security Council will discuss the concept of preemptive strike: how is such a strike legally and morally justified?

The IceMUN 2010 conference date has now been set and will be held from the 4th to 7th of March in 2010, at the University of Reykjavík, room 306, starting with a prepatory conference between 16:00-19:30 on the 4th. The  registration fees are 2,500 kr, 25€ or 25$, upon your preference, and must be paid for your registration application to be considered finalized.

The countries to be represented are at Security Council:
Permanent: China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom & the United States
Non-permanent:  Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Gabon, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Turkey, Uganda
Auxiliary Members: Iran, North Korea


In order to register for IceMUN 2010, please send an e-mail to abg8@hi.is with the subject title IceMUN 2010 application, including the following information:
  • Full name
  • Address and country of origin (nationality)
  • Contact information
  • Age
  • Field of study
  • Academic or organizational work
  • Previous MUN experience or any other relevant experience
  • A photo of yourself
  • Whether you would like to participate in the Security Council or ECOSOC
  • Why do you wish to participate in this year's IceMUN conference? What country would you like to represent (1rst, 2nd, 3rd)? Why did you pick these countries?
The council will email the applicants to inform them of their country, the fully finalized scenario and any necessary documents needed for the up-and-coming conference. The board has prepared an information booklet for the conference and can be found at this site:  www.hi.is/~vek1/IceMUN2010.pdf.
